In “Capricorn Sky” I delve into the mystical realm of the zodiac sign Capricorn, capturing its essence through a dreamy sky-scape rendered in a fusion of watercolors and pastels. Inspired by the steadfast determination and unwavering ambition of the Capricorn, this piece reflects foundational structures of the earth as an illustration of such characteristics. I also included a grounding wash of hues overlaid with a more energetic palette of colors to allude to the acquisitive Capricornian nature to seize opportunity.
This is an original painting created on a 9” x 12” paper with an unpainted border of around ⅜”. The paper I use is Arches heavy weight 140lb cold-pressed watercolor paper designed for the watercolor techniques I use. Keep in mind, slight warping of the paper is normal for watercolor and does not affect the presentation of the piece once framed. I believe using the highest quality materials for each of my paintings for beautiful vibrant colors that are long-lasting for generations to come.
