Of Leo drama
In “Leo Sky” I delve into the mystical realm of the zodiac sign Leo, capturing its essence through a dreamy sky-scape rendered in a fusion of watercolors and pastels. Inspired by the enthusiastic creativity of Leo, I used confident shapes gowned in vibrant hues to capture their drama and expansive brilliance. Working with bold reds and fiery oranges contrasting darker hues of blues and greens, I create a statement of extravagance that is also rooted in their beliefs.
This is an original painting created on a 9” x 12” paper with an unpainted border of around ⅜”. The paper I use is Arches heavy weight 140lb cold-pressed watercolor paper designed for the watercolor techniques I use. Keep in mind, slight warping of the paper is normal for watercolor and does not affect the presentation of the piece once framed. I believe using the highest quality materials for each of my paintings for beautiful vibrant colors that are long-lasting for generations to come.
